Gulval School is looking to appoint a positive, friendly, efficient and highly organised School Secretary with financial responsibility to join our welcoming and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in the smooth day-to-day running of our school — supporting staff, pupils, families and visitors — as part of the first Thrive School of Excellence in the country.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial and administrative operations of our school. As the first point of contact, they will provide a warm and professional welcome to all visitors, while primarily overseeing a range of financial tasks including processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and completing census activities. In addition, the role may include light-touch support for educational delivery, such as hearing children read or assisting with learning activities, helping to foster a positive and nurturing school environment. They will support the leadership team by ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school office.

About You:

The successful candidate will:

Be highly organised, proactive and efficient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and attention to detail in all aspects of their work

Be confident in the use of IT systems (MIS and Microsoft Office experience desirable)

Have the ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively

Be a positive and committed team player with a ‘can do’ attitude

Share in our passion for adventurous learning and be keen to play an active role in our school community
