Vacancy for School Sports Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 3, Point 2-3

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

This new exciting role has come about to support and help all young people across the partnership’s schools achieve their daily target of 60 active minutes.

The opportunity

  • Would you like to join a developing Leisure facility with future opportunities, working with a passionate driven team that supports young peoples fitness?
  • Working with the young is hugely rewarding and this role will involve the practical delivery of school sessions and competitions as well as administrative duties.

The ideal candidate

  • Experience of delivering/participating in sport/physical activities.
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Effective interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to use initiative when required.
  • Experience of using email, processing and spreadsheet packages e.g. Word and Excel and Publisher.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines and interruptions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Awareness of child protection issues.
  • Genuine passion and a belief in the potential of every student.
  • Willingness to undertake training.
