Science Classroom Support and Interventions Teaching Assistant job summary

Have you got a passion for science and are looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in an educational setting? Joseph Leckie Academy is seeking a dedicated and proactive Science Classroom Support and Interventions Teaching Assistant to join our team.

You will assist in providing comprehensive support, working with students on a one to one basis, in small group as well as classroom support within the Science Faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

Work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff, to undertake work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for students.

Assist the teacher in the management of students and the classroom.

  • Work with students may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
  • Working cohesively with the relevant staff to ensure swift and effective action in relation to a student’s support needs.
  • Proficient in ICT
  • Support and maintain collaborative relationships with staff and external professionals.

The successful candidate must be qualified to a minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C or Level 4/5 and have proven experience in a Teaching Assistant role, or be able to show their capacity to undertake this role.
