Shaftesbury High School is looking to appoint a Science Lead teacher from September 2025.

We are looking to recruit a Science Lead teacher who will provide learning that will make a lasting change for our students. This post will be ideal for a Secondary SEND teacher, a science teacher or an Upper Primary Teacher who would like to work in a secondary setting. We are looking to recruit a colleague who is a team player and at the same time operates with initiative in the school’s intent.

Science is a popular subject. The Science Curriculum is ambitious, well planned, and places student learning at its heart. The Science lead teacher is an important position at Shaftesbury High School. The Science Lead ensures that students at Shaftesbury receive a well-constructed, progression based education with clear end goals for each level.

At Shaftesbury we recognise that academic success for our students is a combination of high quality SEND teaching, a well-designed curriculum, and meeting the student’s pastoral needs.
