About Sandwich Technology School

STS is an 11 to 18, mixed, secondary school that has an excellent reputation across Kent where "Pupils engage well in learning. They enjoy their lessons and behave well. Pupils show respect for each other and value the work their teachers do to support them." (Ofsted May 2019) The success of our students from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form is due to the ‘can do, will do’ attitude that is the hallmark of staff and students alike. At STS we ‘Hold fast that which is good’: a broad and engaging curriculum; interesting, inspiring and innovative classroom practice; as well as a whole host of enriching extra-curricular activity. Throughout their time at STS the students are provided with quality advice, support and guidance to help them progress and grow academically, personally and vocationally. We recognise and celebrate diversity and understand that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is inappropriate for the unique individuals we serve. What is it like to work for us? We pride ourselves on our friendly, purposeful and supportive working environment where staff can develop professionally and meet their own career aspirations. Please read the quotes below from current staff members as to what it is like to work at Sandwich Technology School. "There's a balance of warmth and professionalism; ambition is encouraged and innovation is welcomed." "The amount of autonomy and trust is really amazing here.....I have been given the chance to teach in my own way, yet I have a supportive and collaborative department that shares ideas." "I am free to take risks and try new things and share my experience with others." "There is a rich CPD offering that supports research based methods informed by experience." "Staff actively support each other through tough times, both personal and professional." "There is plenty of opportunities for aspiring leaders at all levels."
