What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a specialist science teacher.

The successful candidate will be, or if an ECT, has the ability to become, an inspirational classroom practitioner and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new staff.

The science team is very supportive with a broad range of specialisms across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

There are two full-time lab technicians and science is housed in refurbished accommodation.

All teachers have their own laboratories, appropriately equipped for each specialism, with laptop and projector.

Triple Sciences are offered as part of the KS4 options and all other students study the combined science GCSE course.

Our science department has a reputation for being forward thinking and innovative and is a leading department in our whole school work on Rosenshine.

What the school offers its staff

Frederick Gough School has been the most oversubscribed school in North Lincolnshire for the last nine years.

Ofsted (Nov 2023) described our school as truly comprehensive where pupils are happy, kind and respectful and where teachers and leaders are proud to work.

We genuinely believe in education being the key to ensuring a successful society for the future and would ask that you read our curriculum intent on our website as well as other key documents to get a feel of what we are about.

We are proud of our values and positive culture and have attached some of the additional benefits of being part of the Fred Gough Family.

This includes a staff well being package through the School’s Advisory Service.
