About the Department:

Our Science department is a large eclectic mix of staff ranging from ECTs to those that have been teaching for over twenty years. We pride ourselves on having high expectations and aspirations for all of our students while delivering fun and engaging lessons. The team has great rapport and is fully supportive of each other and are welcoming to all newcomers. We have secured above national outcomes for a number of years and are always looking for ways to be creative and inventive in our approach to teaching.

We have 12 fully equipped labs with most staff having their own lab, we also have a Post 16 centre where there are an additional 6 labs. Staff can teach in their specialisms or cover the full range of sciences. We are fully supportive and will work with you to ensure you feel part of the team and are offered the CPD to enable them to thrive.
