An extremely rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at St Wilfrid’s to join our team as a Teacher of Science. This is a permanent full-time post.

We are seeking an outstanding colleague who can plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for students and assess them accurately so that teaching is responsive and meets the needs of students.As a member of our large Science team, you will be supported and challenged, so that as well as contributing to students’ success and that of the School, you are personally developed in your career.

The Science Team is made up of 15 dedicated experienced colleagues (12 Teachers and 3 Technicians). Our Science Team are committed colleagues who ensure that this area of school and college is vibrant and inclusive. The department offers AQA Triple Science GCSEs – Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS4, AQA Dual Award Science GCSEs at KS4, with in-demand AQA A Level courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS5. Outcomes are strong. These courses are offered alongside an extensive and ever-expanding extra-curricular programme. All colleagues have their own classroom and are supported by a team of technicians.

What the school offers its staff

St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth-Form College is a mixed voluntary Academy for 11-18 year olds, based in North Featherstone in West Yorkshire. There are currently 1,538 students in attendance. The school opened in 1963 and has a proud history. We were judged as Good by Ofsted in November 2021; we were also judged as Good by the Diocesan Section 48 Inspection in April 2024.

We are proudly part of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust which comprises of three Secondary Schools and twelve Primary Schools.
