What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to recruit a science technician with experience in supporting young people in a secondary school setting. The key aspects of this technician role will involve the following.

  • Preparing for lessons including setting up and clearing away materials and equipment
  • Ensuring all workspaces and equipment is maintained and cleaned to the highest standard
  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson demonstrations and assisting students with using equipment
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are always upheld
  • Ordering stock and managing stock levels

You will be able to communicate effectively, with the ability to work well alongside pupils and teaching staff, working collaboratively across the entire school.

You will bring with you an interest and passion for science, ideally with a science qualification. Additionally, you will have good organisational skills and patience. You will share our inclusive values of “opportunity, diversity and success for all” and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuous improvement.

In return, you will be joining our supportive team of tenacious, optimistic and talented Science Department, who have the support of an experienced leadership team.
