Purpose:

You will play a key role in supporting the Science Faculty by preparing and maintaining equipment, organising resources and ensuring safe working practices. You will help staff deliver practical activities and create an engaging learning environment, enabling students to access a broad and inspiring science curriculum.

Duties (further details in the attached application pack):

  • Contribute to the day‑to‑day organisation and delivery of practical science activities
  • Ensure the Prep Room is kept in good working order
  • Prepare, move and set up practical equipment safely in classrooms
  • Work with the Senior Science Technician to check, maintain, calibrate, clean and repair equipment
  • Provide advice and assistance to staff to support best practice in practical science
  • Promote safe working practices, including risk assessment, safe storage and disposal of materials
  • Support longer‑term projects and adapt or develop specialist resources when needed
  • Help ensure suitable materials and equipment are available, assisting with effective stock control
  • Maintain confidentiality and flexibility in line with school policies and operational needs

Fluency Duty
