About the Role
This role is critical to the smooth running of the Science Faculty. This role would suit someone who is careful, meticulous and enjoys high levels of attention to detail. In addition to this, the role demands a forward-thinking, proactive and a highly organised individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy environment. This role will deal with all practical aspects of science; it has responsibility for managing the prep room efficiently and effectively, ensuring all chemicals are prepared and stored in accordance with their instructions. The role is responsible maintaining an inventory of stock, in addition to ordering supplies and equipment in a timely manner. You will ensure that all is equipment is maintained to the correct standards and taking remedial action if faults are found. The successful applicant will be responsible for health and safety in the prep room and for the prepared resources. You will ensure that experiments are conducted safely in accordance with legislation. You will enjoy collaborating with the Science Faculty to develop innovative and engaging science activities.

Corby Business School’s Science Faculty is a facility that we are proud of. We have a fully resourced curriculum to adapt to each class and enrichment activities and links to further education that we invest in. We are proud of our subject specific training delivered by specialists which is further supported by our Trust-wide network of science specialists who all work together. The role of our science technicians is paramount to the success of the Faculty, they are valued and vital in supporting our students and are very much part of our team.
