Science Technician job summary
To contribute to the achievement of the School’s Mission and strategic objectives by working as a member of the Science Team, providing effective , flexible and efficient practical support to the Science Department Provide a good level of technical support for staff and students working in the science department.
Be well Organised and able to work from instructions
Make minor decisions and use your own initiative
Keep training up to date
Ensure that knowledge is kept up to date with CLEAPPS guidance.
Work effectively as part of a team .
Prepare and provide all equipment and resources for Science lessons across the Science curriculum for a busy department .
Maintain equipment and resources for lessons in a user-friendly form ensuring all are in safe working order
Clear away apparatus and materials , ensuring Laboratories are left clean , tidy and safe.
Safe storage and disposal of chemicals
Keep accurate records of stock levels and re- ordering up to date
Carry out Safety checks
Check deliveries of resources and ensure all items are checked off and stored
Keep inventories of equipment and carry out risk assessments for technical work
Submit electrical equipment for testing and report faults
