Science Technician job summary

We have an exciting opportunity available for an energetic and enthusiastic person to work as a support technician in our highly successful Science Department. Helston Community College is one of the family of schools who together are Southerly Point Co-operative Multi-Academy Trust. We genuinely support each other and work closely together to achieve our aim of 'enabling excellence for all': our children, our staff and our communities. Our work is underpinned by the co-operative values and these inform everything we do. Applicants will be required, under the supervision of the Senior Technician, to organise the provision of practical support for the relevant curriculum area for staff and students at all key stages. Appropriate training and supervision will be given. Applicants must have good educational qualifications and although it would be an advantage for applicants to have a sound knowledge of and interest in science, it is not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff at Helston Community College who are committed to providing the best possible education for our students. In return, we are able to offer staff a secure, supportive environment with continuous professional development, as well as excellent benefits including a Local Government Pension Scheme and access to wellbeing services. We are committed to promoting aspiration, encouraging ambition and ensuring achievement within a values-driven ethos. Safeguarding Southerly Point Co-operative Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. DBS disclosure will be required at the enhanced level for all appointments. Southerly Point Co-operative Multi Academy Trust is also committed to having a workforce that promotes equality and celebrates diversity. Applicants are expected to familiarise themselves with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policy, which can be found via the following link: https://www.helston.cornwall.sch.uk/web/policies/318090
