What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Science Technician to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. You will work alongside our existing team of four technicians, including a Senior Technician, and collaborate with thirteen teaching staff across the Science department.The successful candidate will join a supportive, committed and experienced team of Technicians who work hard to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of innovative and enjoyable lessons, providing advice and support to the students and teachers. The role includes providing technical advice and support and ensuring the highest health and safety standards are adhered to. The job holder needs to be flexible and adaptable to support changing day to day requirements of the department and an enthusiastic team player willing and fully committed to work as part of a team who seek to offer the very best support to both the teaching team and the students.

An enthusiasm for learning and a love of science are essential requirements of the job. Qualifications and previous experience are desirable, but full training and support will be given to the right candidate.

Candidates should enjoy working in the context of a busy team environment, and have:

  • a good understanding of science;
  • good communication skills;
  • meticulous attention to detail; and
  • a friendly approach and a calm manner.
