Queen Elizabeth Grammar School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and adaptable technician to support the Science curriculum. This is a busy and varied role and candidates should have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff, you will provide assistance and information as required in the preparation of resources, maintenance and support to staff and pupils. You must ensure the requirements are followed meeting both the health and safety standards and the requirements of the classes involved.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support throughout the science department at all levels and in all disciplines.
  • Undertake effective administration and record keeping, including but not limited to stock, expenditure of assessment data.
  • In conjunction with the Heads of, Biology, Chemistry and Physics ensure the proper implementation of the safety policy and the preparation and application of risk assessments within the science department. Ensure compliance with the latest COSHH regulations and guidance provided by CLEAPSS relating to practical science.
  • Maintain, distribute, set out and check materials and apparatus.
