Science Technician job summary

We are seeking a motivated, organised, and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our vibrant science department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical, hands-on environment and wants to support an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and materials for science lessons.

  • Ensure laboratories are safe, tidy, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.

  • Assist teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations as needed.

  • Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage accurate inventories.

  • Support pupils’ engagement in practical science by helping create interactive, well-resourced learning experiences.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a strong interest or background in science (laboratory experience desirable but not essential).

  • Demonstrates excellent organisation and time-management skills.

  • Is proactive, practical, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Understands the importance of safety in the lab and is willing to undertake any relevant training.

  • Brings a positive attitude and a commitment to supporting young people's learning.
