The Governors of this high achieving, oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint a Science Technician to support the Senior Science Technician with the use of practical resources to meet the needs of the Science Department and maintaining a safe working environment.
The successful applicant will also assist in the maintenance of all resources, chemicals and equipment requirements for the laboratories, preparation room and the science work room.
What are we looking for?
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people including teachers, support staff and students
- Someone who is willing to learn the relevant scientific knowledge needed to support them in their role (training will be given)
- A willingness to complete health and safety training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of any changing advice from CLEAPPs ensuring that relevant checks are completed and changes implemented
- Someone who has effective and efficient organisational skills, who is able to work as part of a team and use their own initiative
- Experience of multitasking and problem solving
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
