‘Children who eat a healthy, balanced diet are better able to concentrate, retain information, and perform well academically. At Crawshaw Academy, we are 100% committed to providing the best nutrition for our students, to support their learning and development’
The beauty of our catering offering at Crawshaw Academy is, as much as possible, we create our products in house. This means we have the autonomy to try new and exciting ideas, as well as having the agility to change things quickly if they are not working! Financial performance, customer feedback and performance in compliance audits (including being 5-star food rated by Leeds Council) tell us that our catering offering is in good shape, and we want to continue to build on this success. Catering for 1,000 students is no small feat, but our skilled team is dedicated to providing nutritious, balanced meals that are both delicious and affordable. Our goal is to foster a lasting culture of healthy eating, helping students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Our team is made up of our Head Chef, who is accountable for all aspects, supported by our in-house Baker and 2 Senior Catering Assistants managing the rest of the team (10 people in total). We are the very definition of team players, who are well accustomed to the changes of pace a school day brings. Our intention is always to be customer focussed, whilst putting a smile on both ours and our customer’s faces.
As part of Red Kite Learning Trust, Crawshaw Academy, you will be welcomed into a wider team of caterers who operate across Red Kite Learning Trust. Our Trust consists of 5 secondary schools across Harrogate and Leeds and our catering leaders collaborate as a group when needed, as well as supporting each other individually to ensure we are delivering the very best four our customers. As a wider group, there are plenty of opportunities for professional development and growth.
