Second in charge of English job summary

We seek a second in English to join our team, with the responsibility of being accountable for the standards attained by all students within your lessons and the department. Plan and apply strategies/interventions that deliver rapid student progress. Support with the delivery of effective teaching and learning that maximises individual progress. Responsible for the learning environment including facilities, health and safety and effective deployment of resources and work closely and under the Head of Faculty.

Role and Purpose

As the Second in English you will support and be responsible for the Faculty. You will line manage staff within the subject area.

Responsible for supporting the quality of teaching and learning within English. He/she is accountable for ensuring student progress within English and supporting the Head of Faculty with the strategic development of the subject. He/she should also work to the National Professional Standards for Teachers and to the School Professional Standards in accordance with the Career Stage.
