What skills and experience we're looking for
Outwood Academy Ormesby is seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher to act as Second in Faculty for Art, Design & Technology.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to step into a leadership role and inspire and motivate both students and colleagues within a supportive and creative faculty. In addition, they will work closely with the Head of Faculty to support the personal and professional development of staff within the department.
The successful candidate will ideally be an Art specialist with a strong record of excellent classroom practice, subject expertise, and curriculum knowledge. They will be a committed and motivated individual, eager to contribute positively to our hardworking and supportive team while embracing the academy’s ethos and vision. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to raising aspirations and achievement and is willing to invest in their ongoing professional development to become, or continue to be, an outstanding practitioner.
What the school offers its staff
At Outwood Academy Ormesby, our Creative Arts and Technology team is striving to offer an excellent Arts education to students of all ages and abilities. Our friendly and committed team are subject specialists and are driven by the desire to ensure that all learners make good progress in every lesson. At Outwood Academy Ormesby, Art is part of the Creative Arts and Technology faculty where there are two Art teachers and four Technology Teachers alongside one Drama and one Music Teacher and a department technician. This team contributes heavily to the after school enrichment programmes offering a wide variety of clubs including both KS3 and 4 art and within the faculty, collaboration between the subjects is an important part of the department's ethos.
Outwood Academy Ormesby can be found in the town of Middlesbrough in the north-east of England. Our goal is to continuously improve and become a leading academy in the region.
Through strong leadership, we empower our staff to excel and ensure that students receive the best possible education and outcomes. The academy provides an excellent environment for professional development and making a positive impact on the lives of students in the area.
At our academy, we have highly trained staff and effective safeguarding measures in place to support all staff members. Additionally, the SLT and staff work together effectively to ensure that all students are actively engaged in their education.
