What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a highly ambitious, committed and dynamic professional to join our PE department; someone who is passionate about their subject, communicates well with young people and makes a positive impact on their learning. The PE department comprises of 8 teachers, 2 of whom are members of the Senior Leadership Team. We work collaboratively to support each other both with the demands of our work and our wellbeing.

The responsibilities held by the Second in PE will be decided once a suitable candidate has been appointed, but it is likely to include leadership of a Key Stage and Extra-Curricular provision across the Academy.

Physical Education is at the heart of the AVA curriculum with state of the art facilities including a fully resourced 3G football pitch and an Astroturf hockey pitch under floodlights as well as MUGA, extensive fields and a well-resourced gym. The continued expansion of the school will also provide further opportunities for professional development.

Applicants must possess a full driving licence and ability to drive a minibus or agree to undertake a minibus driving test if they are successful.
