Second In Science job summary

Join Our Science Revolution at Wednesfield Academy

“Success is a science; if you have the right conditions, you get the result.” — Oscar Wilde
At Wednesfield Academy, we believe in creating those conditions every single day.

About the role

We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and forward-thinking leader to join our dynamic Science department as Second in Science. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator ready to shape the future of science education and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Working closely with our Director of Science, you’ll help elevate our curriculum, support staff with high-quality teaching resources, and deliver training that raises the bar for teaching excellence. If you’re ready to lead, collaborate, and inspire—this is the role for you.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll already have some experience leading teachers and a hunger to grow your leadership skills further. You’ll be a team player who thrives on sharing best practice and driving improvement across the department and beyond. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who believes in the power of science to transform lives—and wants to be part of that transformation.
