We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner, with confidence and experience in teaching across a range of subjects in Technology at KS3. Ideally you will have experience of teaching Product Design at KS4 but we welcome candidates with specialisms in a variety of subject areas due to upcoming changes in the curriculum; to be discussed further at interview. It would be advantageous if you had experience and knowledge of AQA Design Technology GCSE specification as well as experience of teaching across a range of subject areas in Technology to GCSE level. John Hanson is a successful 11-16 community school, rated as Good by OFSTED. Our students are friendly and confident, and we strive to ensure that they achieve the success they deserve. The school provides an extensive staff induction programme along with a comprehensive range of opportunities for continuous professional development.

Location and History

John Hanson Community School is a thriving, mixed gender 11-16 community school in South West Andover, Hampshire, with almost 1000 students. The school has a rich history, dating back to 1582, and was previously known as Andover Free School and Andover Grammar School. In 1974 the school was renamed John Hanson School in honour of its founder, and moved to the current site on Floral Way in 2001.
