Your next role

As our Secondary School Engagement Coordinator, you’ll lead the delivery, development and evaluation of programmes at City Academy, working with targeted KS3 and KS4 pupils through a mix of 1:1 mentoring, small group interventions, and extra-curricular clubs and festivals. You’ll also play a key role in introducing and growing rugby across the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), working as part of a network of RFU School Rugby Managers, aiming for sustainable delivery.

You’ll collaborate with the Education & Skills Manager and key school staff to coordinate and deliver targeted interventions such as Bear in Mind and Bright Sparks, ensuring alignment with school and stakeholder priorities. You’ll also lead the delivery of Project Rugby at City Academy, engaging new audiences and advocating for rugby union as part of the curriculum, while supporting staff to achieve RFU-accredited qualifications.

This is a hands-on role that blends planning, delivery, mentoring, and partnership-building - ideal for someone passionate about inclusive sport, education, and community engagement.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience working in a school or educational setting, particularly with secondary-aged pupils (KS3 and KS4), ideally through mentoring, coaching, or delivering structured interventions.
  • Strong coaching background, with experience planning and delivering physical activity sessions.
  • Experience building positive relationships with young people and adults with disabilities and impairments.
  • Effective Mentoring Level 2 (or willingness to work towards).
  • England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA) or RFU Level 2 Coaching Award (or willingness to work towards).
  • Access to a personal vehicle and possession of a full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience developing partnerships at all levels to collaboratively deliver needs-driven projects.
