Secondary School Teacher job summary

Carmel College is looking to appoint a Secondary School Teacher from 1 September to October half term 2025. As a Secondary School Teacher, you will play a central role in inspiring and educating young people during a critical stage of their academic and personal development. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about their subject, committed to high standards, and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of a diverse student body. Through effective teaching, assessment, and feedback, you will support students in developing both subject knowledge and essential life skills. Your ability to create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment will be key to fostering motivation and progress.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll contribute to the wider life of the school—whether through pastoral support, extracurricular activities, or collaboration with colleagues to drive continuous improvement. You’ll also play a vital role in preparing students for key assessments, qualifications, and future pathways.

This is a rewarding and dynamic role that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ lives while continuing to grow professionally within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.
