SEMH Assistants job summary

We are looking for Specialist outreach SEMH assistants for our new Neighbourhood SEMH Service. This part of a Luton wide approach to ensuring quality of outreach and building capacity across primary schools. The Specialist outreach SEMH assistants will be based at Maidenhall Primary School and join our Maidenhall family! Your key focus will be to work with children (including those with additional needs), their families and staff in schools in the North and Western Luton partnerships to help pupils thrive. Your time will mainly be spent in other schools supporting children and staff to thrive.

Maidenhall is a 3-4 form entry school serving a multicultural but predominantly South Asian community in the centre of Luton. The Senior and Middle Leadership Teams have a good blend of experience and a willingness to go the extra mile. The budget is healthy and the school is well resourced. There is a strong and supportive Governing Body.

The successful candidates will not only understand what is being done well but have the insight and confidence to bring fresh ideas to build on these strengths. They will expand on the excellent foundations which are already in place and build on them to help children succeed in education. They will also recognise the importance of balancing the well being of the children and staff with the desire to achieve the best outcomes for all.

Give the highest priority to the quality of education by ensuring that all children benefit from inclusive teaching practices.

Have the vision, passion and enthusiasm to motivate and inspire children and staff to reach their full potential.

Are able to build a strong rapport with professionals at other school as well as children, parents and staff.

Have experience across all primary phases.

Have personal and professional integrity and are visible and approachable with the resilience to meet the day to day challenges of this role.

We can offer you the following:

A positive, caring ethos with children at the heart of all we do.

Talented, friendly and supportive staff.

A commitment to high quality professional development.

Excellent IT infrastructure with a dedicated IT support.

Closing Date: Midday on the 28th June 2025

Interviews will be commencing also on the 7th July 2025
