SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant(2) L3 job summary

We are looking for someone to join our friendly, supportive team, working as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with a named child, who has additional learning needs, supporting them in accessing the curriculum during their lessons, and with other activities they may struggle with. Due to their needs, they may show challenging behaviour and therefore some of their learning time may be in a designated space outside of the classroom.


This is a term time position, working 29.67 hours per week, between 8.30a.m. and 3.35p.m., Monday to Friday. It will be a fixed term contract, linked to a specific child but with a possibility of becoming permanent.

About you -

The successful applicant will –

Have some experience in the care and/or education of children

Have some experience of working in an school setting

Be able to communicate effectively with children and adults

Have a relevant NVQ2 or be working towards this

Be able to work well as a member of a team and on own initiative
