SEN Assistant job summary

An enthusiastic SEN Assistant is required to work in partnership with the SENCO, Student Intervention Manager and classroom teachers to support the progress of students who have special education needs, in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.  You will be part of a supportive Intervention Team. 
 
It would be an advantage for the ideal candidate to have an understanding of autism and previous experience of working with autistic children.  Candidates should be able to support students with literacy and numeracy and may also be expected to support students with any difficulties they experience in accessing the curriculum as a result of their particular needs to enable them to learn effectively alongside their peers. 
  
Hours:         Monday, Thursday, Friday 08:45 – 15:30 (24 hours pw) 
                   
Salary:        Scale 3, Point 4 - £10,706.26 per annum (actual gross salary) 
                   Progression is based on an annual performance review.
