As an Experienced Teacher at Amwell View School, You Will:

  • Lead lessons and support pupils aged 2 to 19 with severe learning difficulties, adapting your teaching to meet their individual needs.
  • Develop creative, multi-sensory lessons to engage pupils in communication, social, and life skills development.
  • Take on leadership responsibilities, helping to shape and deliver a rich, varied curriculum.
  • Collaborate with middle leaders and a supportive senior leadership team to further develop the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Communicate effectively with families and carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in a wide range of school activities, including parents’ evenings and community events.
  • Receive continuous professional development to enhance your expertise in SEND teaching, behaviour management, and alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS, AAC).


Exciting Growth & Future Opportunities at Amwell View School:

At Amwell View School, we are on an exciting journey of growth and development. In addition to our main site in Stanstead Abbotts, we are proud to have satellite provisions in both Stanstead Abbotts and Tonwell, further expanding our ability to support pupils with special educational needs. We are also excited to be working closely with Arlesdene Nursery, as the Local Authority has agreed to fund four pupils with SEN through Amwell View, who will be placed at Arlesdene.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce that we will be opening a new site in Buntingford, scheduled to open in 2027. This expansion will create a wealth of new opportunities for both staff and pupils, enhancing our capacity to deliver exceptional care, education, and support for our community. We look forward to the new chapter in our journey, where growth, opportunity, and collaboration will continue to shape the future of Amwell View School!
