SEN Classroom Teacher job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated, and innovative SEN Classroom Teacher to join our team at West Hill School. We are looking for exceptional primary SEN teachers who can help our children to ACHIEVE as much as they possibly can and FLOURISH in adult life. If you have prior experience this does not need to be from a special school and we encourage and support teachers looking to transfer from mainstream if they are keen to grow and develop. We welcome applications from ECTs and have a strong reputation for positive support.

About the Role:

Our primary children work at least 3-4 years below age-related expectations and all have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) covering a range of complex learning difficulties, including speech and language difficulties, autism, and/or medical needs. Our models of learning mean that our children are based in mixed aged groups of 10-12 children. All teachers coordinate a subject as part of a team. Whilst we welcome teachers familiar in either Early Years, KS1 or KS2 and are flexible to support staff to develop well, we regularly promote and support staff to teach across our school.

We can offer you:

  • Keen and eager children who are learning how to learn and ultimately love learning.
  • Friendly and supportive staff, parents, and local board members.
  • Varied curriculum and development opportunities.
  • An amazing environment in which children really thrive.
  • A positive focus towards supporting wellbeing for all.

Teachers at West Hill need to be team players and who embrace change as an opportunity. We are a "can do" school and we want innovation and enthusiasm to help us continue to develop our provision with us and drive forward our high standards. Every teacher should be ready to embrace the challenge of helping children to take their next steps using creative and adaptive approaches. You will be a confident and flexible individual who is ready to become part of our community.

All adults employed by the Trust have a responsibility for data protection and have a duty to observe and follow the principles of the GDPR Regulations. The Howard Partnership Trust is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from all individuals, regardless of gender, marital status, disability, race, age, or sexual orientation.

All applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK prior to commencement of employment. As part of our need to comply with UK immigration rules, you will be required to provide Home Office stipulated documentation prior to interview.

Early applications are encouraged. We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date of this advertisement.
