SEN classroom teacher job summary
To start as soon as possible:
We invite applications from excellent practitioners with primary or secondary experience. The successful candidates will:
• Be able to deliver inspirational, specialist and highly differentiated lessons to pupils working below age related expectations.
• Have experience of delivering a range of national curriculum subjects including core and foundation subjects.
• Have specific experience of working with pupils with SEND.
• Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs.
• Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community.
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
• Working knowledge of SEN including EHCP plans.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to deploy TAs effectively
• Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing pupils’ progress.
• Ability to identify and de-escalate emotional and behavioural issues using positive behaviour management techniques.
