- GTA: £11.59 - £11.98 per hour, £22,366 - £23,114 per annum full time equivalent; MSA: £11.98 per hour, £1,138 per annum

- Gross Pay Estimate: £13,907 - £14,336 per annum
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a nurturing, caring individual to work closely with a small group of KS2 SEND pupils with a range of needs. As well as the GTA SEN hours, you will have Midday Supervisory Assistant duties, ensuring our pupils safely enjoy their lunch and playtime.
You will be delivering high-quality, differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of an adapted, Life Skills focused curriculum.
You will be working closely with the class teacher to provide individualised support for students, targeting individualised learning approaches, emotional regulation, and communication.
You will be supporting these pupils within the classroom setting under the supervision of the class teacher, however smaller break rooms can be used to deliver targeted sessions.
You will be supported and given on-going training to implement specific strategies to support the students’ communication, learning and sensory needs.
YEAT has a strong collaborative culture with an emphasis on staff development, you will be given ongoing training, guidance, and support.
Experience we are looking for:
- Supporting children with Down's Syndrome
- Supporting children with hearing impairment (experience using Makaton would be beneficial)
- Supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Supporting children who speak English as an additional language
- Experience delivering interventions and personalised approaches to learning

A rural forest school
Our breath-taking rural location is embraced by the school, including use of local woodland to support our high-quality forest school provision. Pupils talk passionately about their local community and its heritage and are also aspirational about their future plans.
We believe that all children should have regular opportunities to engage in outdoor learning.
Our forest school provision provides opportunities for children to develop a wide range of skills, as shown in the document below.
We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, hiding behind our school building, which include tiered gardens with a pond, greenhouse, forest school area, quiet zone and adventure playground. Within these areas, our pupils have frequent opportunities to observe wildlife (we have an owl box and bird houses), learn across different curriculum areas and much more!
Our staff are committed to providing a wealth of opportunities to all pupils. Our broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum is grounded in the locality and we pride ourselves on having strong community links. Pupils are provided with a wide range of extra-curricular activities, excellent resources - including 1:1 iPads – and daily access to our extensive school grounds. Pupils have regular swimming lessons and have the opportunity to compete in cross-school events linked to sports, technology and the Arts. We offer instrumental lessons taught by a peripatetic teacher and we are currently working towards the Arts Award Discover. Many pupils enjoy taking on leadership responsibilities, including being a school council representative.
We are proud to be a founding member of the Yorkshire Endeavour Academy Trust and opportunities to work collaboratively with pupils from other schools within the Trust are actively planned into the school year. We ensure that pupils from our small village community have opportunities to develop confidence and build relationships with their peers beyond Castleton, in preparation for their eventual transition to secondary school.
Staff have high expectations of all pupils and are keen to develop their resilience, independence and communication skills. Staff, pupils, parents and governors have worked together to create a set of oaths, which aim to enhance pupils’ broader development during their time at Castleton in order to ensure that all pupils are effectively prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
