SEN TA, Level 2 Primary (Sunflower Room, Specialist Provision) job summary

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic SEN TA, Level 2 to join our dedicated team in the Primary Phase at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF. This role will be in the Sunflower Room which is a specialist provision.

The core purpose of the role will be to work under the instruction / guidance of teachers and senior staff to undertake work /care / support programmes that enable pupils with EHCP/SEND to access learning, develop communication and independence, and achieve their individual outcomes

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, high-quality support for pupils with complex SEND, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to learning.
  • Support the implementation of EHCP outcomes and individual support plans, including behaviour/regulation plans, communication plans, sensory plans and risk assessments.
  • Promote communication using agreed approaches (e.g. visual timetables, now/next boards, communication boards, AAC/PECS strategies where appropriate).
  • Use a nurturing, relational approach to support pupils’ emotional regulation, readiness to learn and engagement in routines.
  • Support learning through play, adult-led activities and structured interventions, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
