What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualifications & Experience
q Qualified teacher with a strong background in working with pupils with SEN
q Additional Qualification in SEN
q Experience / training in working with pupils
q Successful experience of working with other specialisms and agencies
Knowledge
q Knowledge of current methodology in the education of pupils with SEN
q Awareness of the role and importance of multi-professional working arrangements
q
Ability to work as part of a team and manage the
deployment of other adults
q Ability to work effectively as part of a team and plan jointly
q Commitment to undertaking a detailed induction programme and additional training relevant to the post
q Firm understanding of the subject in relation to pupils with SEN
q Ability to compose clear written reports
q Ability to support on teaching and learning , curriculum developments and training across the school
q Able to construct an individualised curriculum / timetable for specific pupils
q Ability to form constructive relationships with parents

q Confident in a variety of situations
q Able to work independently and as part of a team
q Effective communicator
q Commitment to supporting the work of the consultancy service and training offered to parents and agencies beyond the school

q Willing to attend evening meetings as required, training, including intervention training, and implement actions
q Able to manage the physical aspects of working with children with SEN
