SEN Teacher job summary

Inspire the young people at Harris Academy Orpington. We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic qualified SEN Teacher who has a depth of understanding in SEN, particularly literacy and language development. The main purpose of your role will be: To devise and deliver appropriate literacy and language programmes to a range of students with identified special educational needs and/or literacy difficulties To closely and regularly review and report on progress of students attending taught literacy and language interventions Under the direction of the SENCO, to support with the assessment and identification of students for Catch up and SEN literacy and language interventions Under the direction of the SENCO, to support with the application of access arrangements To contribute to the identification and review of strategies and advice for teaching and support staff included on pupil learning passports (PLPs) and the SEN profile To work collaboratively with mainstream colleagues to ensure that they are including Quality First Teaching Strategies and other relevant strategies from PLPs for literacy and language within teaching and learning To provide some in-class support, as agreed with the SENCO This position would suit someone aspiring to be a Lead Practitioner for SEN interventions. Experience of teaching SEN interventions, especially SEN literacy interventions, and a postgraduate qualification in Dyslexia, speech and language or literacy are essential.
