SEN Teacher job summary
As SEN Teacher for The Canopy, you will be central to delivering personalised, evidence-based teaching tailored to autistic pupils with complex needs.
You will:
Plan and deliver individual and small group lessons using autism-informed approaches that promote communication, regulation, and engagement
Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and specialist professionals to create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
Contribute to the development and review of EHCP targets and individual learning plans to ensure every pupil’s progress and well-being
Support pupils’ inclusion in wider school activities and maintain strong home-school partnerships
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to assessment and reporting processes
Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen your expertise and share best practice
You will work within a supportive leadership team committed to school improvement, where your contribution will be valued and your professional growth encouraged.
About YouYou will be a dedicated professional who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a strong understanding of autism and evidence-based SEN strategies
- Is passionate about creating a safe, stimulating environment where every pupil can thrive
- Demonstrates adaptability and creativity in planning and delivering personalised learning
- Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Is compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development
- Has experience or a keen interest in working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
