What skills and experience we're looking for

Thank you for your interest in working at Pudsey Bolton Royd Primary School. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, who enjoys supporting children in a mainstream setting. The post will be supporting a child in Key Stage 1.

The hours for this post are 32.5 hours per week, term time only. These hours will be Monday – Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm. This is a temporary role until February half term initially whilst the school undergoes a staffing restructure, with the possibility of this being extended in the future.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and versatile person to join our fantastic team of staff. Visitors to our school always comment on how supportive & friendly our staff are and the positive atmosphere we have around school.

This is open to qualified or non-qualified Teaching Assistant ideally with experience of working with SEND children but ideally you will have experience of working with children with autism, SEMH or behavioural issues.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:

  • Support the needs of individual children within the classroom.
  • Have high expectations within the classroom setting through commitment to raising the standard of learning for all pupils.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards all aspects of their work.
  • Have a good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Work well as part of a team.

The right candidate will have:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • An ability to work on their own initiative.
  • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
  • A can-do, enthusiastic attitude.
  • A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
