SEN Teaching Assistant job summary
As a SEN Teaching Assistant at The Holme C of E Primary School, you’ll play a truly meaningful part in a child’s school journey. Your days will be filled with supporting learning, building confidence, and helping a pupil feel included, valued, and ready to shine.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher to bring lessons to life, offer one‑to‑one or small‑group support, and celebrate every achievement — big or small. From preparing the classroom to encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop independence, you’ll be a steady, encouraging presence throughout the school day.
You’ll also be part of a warm, collaborative team, sharing insights with colleagues, chatting with parents, and working alongside professionals who all want the very best for each child.

It’s a rewarding, hands‑on role perfect for someone who loves working with children, brings patience and positivity, and wants to make a real difference in a child’s life.

On behalf of the Trust, local committee and staff team, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to The Holme Church of England Primary School.
As you read through our website I hope that you will see that we are a school with a difference!
At the heart of everything that we do are the children. The seven years that they spend with us, are an extremely precious time of enormous growth and change. We seek to make every opportunity a learning experience and harness the value out of every moment, of every day. You will see from much of the content of this website, how central the children are and what fantastic ambassadors they are for the younger generation. As a school community, we are proud to provide a happy, positive environment where the children have the aspiration and self-belief to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
As a Church of England school, The Holme has very clear Christian values and a strong ethos which permeates every aspect of our school and is built around enjoyment in learning. We value the support and commitment which parents offer, both to the school as a whole and to their own child’s education. We believe that working together enables our children to achieve their full potential through high quality teaching and an exciting, values-based curriculum, holding our children at the heart of everything we do.
Choosing a school is an important decision, so please come and visit us to see for yourself what makes The Holme so unique. To get more of a flavour of what goes on at The Holme, please explore our website or visit our virtual tour.
