Grade 3 (£19,307.00) - Full Time, Term Time Only Permanent Position
The King's C of E Primary Academy is an inclusive and progressive school at the heart of the Newark-on-Trent community in Nottinghamshire. With approximately 250 pupils on roll, our diverse school embraces students from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and nationalities, with over 18 first languages represented.
Despite the challenges of high disadvantage, with 46% of our pupils eligible for free school meals, our academy is committed to nurturing drive, ambition, and aspiration in our students. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with individuals and groups of students in class with additional needs, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
- Ensure the physical welfare of students and assist with their physical needs, including medication, lifting, and intimate care
- Provide communication support to enable full access to the curriculum and extracurricular activities
- Help plan and organise learning activities for supported students
- Contribute to setting and reviewing individual targets for students
- Support students' emotional and social development by encouraging positive behaviour
- Liaise with professionals and external agencies as necessary
- Maintain and monitor the use of specialist equipment
- Promote the inclusion and independence of all pupils
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Level 3 Qualification
- Excellent understanding of the Primary Curriculum
- Proven experience in supporting students with additional needs
- Commitment to our Christian Values and a desire to embed them within the school
Desirable Qualities:
- Highly motivated and aspirational, with a genuine desire to provide the best for our children
- Ability to nurture and support all children, understanding their individual needs
- Commitment to being part of a dedicated and supportive team
- Knowledge of Phonics and development of early reading
- Passion for continuous professional development
