SEN Teaching Assistant with After School Club job summary

SEN Teaching Assistant with additional After School Club role - 2 days per week (Mon & Tues)

10hrs per week Teaching Assistant Duty, and 3hrs per week as After School Club Assistant - NJC Grade C, £12.85ph
2.5hrs per week Mealtime Assistant Duty NJC Grade A, £12.26ph

Fixed Term temporary linked to EHCP funding for a specific support for a pupil with special educational needs. To commence September 2025.

Required from September 2025 to join our successful and caring team. The post is to work as a 1:1 support for a child in KS2 with special educational needs. We are looking for someone with a strong, sensitive and caring approach to children’s needs, is able to be an effective communicator and think creatively and who can be flexible as an additional duty in our wrap around care provision will be an extension to the working day.

You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel ‘special’.

Ideally, you will:

  • Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;
  • Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries;
  • Be willing to work as part of a team;
  • Be able to use your own initiative when required;
  • Have experience in a similar role in a school;

You should have literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent.
