SEN Teaching Assistant x 2

Part time mornings only to commence April 2026

To be paid at NJC Band C Scale Point 5 £13.26ph (39 weeks per year). 8.30am - 1:15pm

We are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to support two delightful pupils with SEND in our KS1 class. These roles will support learning, daily routines, managing feelings and emotions and language development.

The role will require a forward thinking, creative approach. You will need to be calm, cheerful, proactive and flexible. A positive and encouraging attitude is essential, as is kindness and an ability to use your initiative.

Successful applicants need to be effective team players who will go the extra-mile for the children and team. Experience of working with children with SEND and /or within a school environment would be an advantage, although not necessarily essential - it is about get the right people for the roles.

Ideally, you will:

Provide a sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs
Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
Have excellent English and Maths skills
Be willing to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour
Be able to use your own initiative when required
Have experience in a similar role in a school
Have prior knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs
You should have literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent.
