What skills and experience we're looking for
St John’s is a thriving one form entry primary school, part of the Greensand Multi Academy trust.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Primary Teacher with QTS to continue the development of SEN provision within our warm, friendly and inclusive school community which is committed to developing confident and independent learners. This is a dual role with responsibilities as SENCo and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all matters of safeguarding and child protection across the school.
This is a part-time, non-class based role working 2 days per week.
SEN experience is essential as you will be expected to provide support and guidance to teaching staff and parents. Ideally, you will hold the SENCo qualification (for which an allowance may be available); however, the school will consider an outstanding teacher working towards the SENCo qualification or wishing to do so in the future. Funding for the course may be available for the right candidate committed to working at St John’s.
The ideal candidate will have:
- outstanding teacher skills and commitment to high quality teaching and learning for all
- successful experience of promoting effective SEN provision within the primary phase;
- experience of managing others and supporting them to develop best practice
- experience of managing safeguarding in a school or other relevant organisation,
- effective communication skills when working with children, parents and professionals
- commitment to being involved in our school community
- a passion to promote those with special educational needs and disabilities

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN allowance e £2,539 (FTE)
