We are excited to offer the excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO to work across the three schools within our Federation, supporting our children and their families, in a newly created post. This is a non-teaching role and you will be part of the SLT working closely with the Heads of School and Executive Head Teacher. The SENCO role also includes being an alternate DSL. Over the course of each week you will have the flexibility to manage your own diary to meet the needs of children at a point in time and work between the three schools. You will work closely with the SEND and Inclusion team, School and Community Team and a wide range of professionals. If you enjoy being part of a team, working closely with children and families and having high aspirations for the learning and progress of every child, we would love to hear from you.

This role is offered on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a firm commitment to our vision, values and future development
  • Have relevant experience and qualifications to support working with pupils with SEN and their families
  • Be knowledgeable about the Early Years Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2 curriculum and assessment processes
  • Be caring and nurturing in their approach
  • Be able to work with, lead, coordinate and support colleagues
  • Be able to track and evaluate pupil progress based on a range of information to plan purposeful, creative, ambitious and engaging learning opportunities
  • Be an effective communicator with all members of the school community
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Offer flexibility and drive, be able to plan, prioritise and collaborate with families and professionals
  • Be a reflective practitioner with a desire and commitment to self-improvement

We will offer you:

  • The opportunity to work across our Federation to make a real difference to the educational progress of our children, without a classroom commitment
  • The opportunity to complete some work off-site to support your workload
  • An approachable and ambitious leadership team
  • A team of committed staff in each school who are great to work with
  • Positive, spacious environments
  • Children with individual strengths and huge potential
  • Support for your own continuous development

At The CARE Federation, we live by our values: Community, Adventure, Respect and Excellence.

The Executive Headteacher will warmly welcome questions or an informal conversation. If you think you have the skills and qualities that this role would require we would warmly encourage you to visit our schools in advance of your application. Please contact Michelle Smith, School Business Manager, to arrange an appointment.

We look forward to hearing from you.
