SENCO job summary

Hamilton School is seeking a dedicated SENCo to lead the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision within our school. This is a key leadership role requiring a passionate individual committed to upholding the values and ethos of Maiden Erlegh Trust while ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and management of SEND support within the school.

  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, the Equality Act, and other relevant legislation.

  • Collaborate with school and Trust leadership to deliver a high-quality, inclusive education for all students.

  • Prepare the school for Ofsted inspections and other benchmarking assessments.

  • Liaise with external agencies and the local authority to maintain robust SEND plans and monitoring systems.

  • Work closely with the Finance Team to oversee financial processes related to SEND provision.

Hamilton School is a Special School in Reading dedicated to supporting students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
