Part-Time SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location: Greenlands Primary School
Hours: Part-time (2.5 days per week)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Contract: Maternity Cover (approx. 12 months)

About the Role

Greenlands Primary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate SENCo to join our team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave. This is a pivotal role within the school, leading on the strategic and operational provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will work closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders, staff, and external agencies to ensure that all pupils receive the support they need to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Develop, implement and review effective SEN support plans and EHCP provision
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to identify and support pupils with SEND
  • Monitor progress and impact of interventions across the school
  • Act as the main point of contact for parents and carers of pupils with SEND
  • Coordinate multi-agency support (e.g. Educational Psychology, Speech & Language)
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate SEND records
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and inclusive teaching practice
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced teacher with a strong understanding of SEND provision
  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for all children
  • Can build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and families
