SENCO job summary
We are looking to appoint a SENCo to join our school to be part of our
friendly supportive team who seek to support every child in our school. We are seeking a SENCo who is able to
provide leadership and direction in ensuring that the needs of our children
with SEN continue to be met. Our SENCo
will support the leadership team in maintaining effective teaching and learning
provision for our children ensuring that every child has access to our broad
and balanced curriculum thereby enabling every child to make progress. This
role is not class based and has no class teaching responsibilities. This is a
permanent contract subject to a successful probation period.
We are looking for a SENCo who:
- Has the National Award for SenCo Qualification
- Will enable our children to ‘Achieve, Believe
and Contribute’ in line with our school vision. - Is kind, caring and wants the very best for the
children in our care. - Has high expectations for the attainment,
behaviour and welfare of all children and is able to support staff in inclusive
classroom practice. - Has experience of teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,
Attachment Disorder and other specific needs within a mainstream class. - Is committed to children being included in all
aspects of school life - Is creative, enthusiastic and committed to our
children and our school. - Is passionate about achieving the best outcomes
for each child and confident in establishing a clear picture of a child’s
strengths and needs. - Is enthusiastic in their commitment to the
development of school life. - Is willing to evaluate their own practise and
keen to learn through continuous professional development.
