What skills and experience we're looking for

About the Role

As SENCO, you will play a key role in leading and managing SEND provision across the school, ensuring that all pupils receive the support they need to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to identify needs, implement effective strategies, and monitor progress.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Postgraduate SENCO qualification or equivalent (or working towards it)

Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience across all primary phases, including EYFS

A proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND

Experience of working collaboratively as part of a Senior Leadership Team (desirable)

Working knowledge of Thrive or Boxall (desirable)

We are looking for someone who:

Is a strong advocate for inclusive education

Has excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

Can demonstrate effective leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

Is committed to working in partnership with families and external professionals

Has the ability to lead and support staff in developing quality-first teaching and effective interventions

NB: you may be required on occasion to support within our federated school.
