What skills and experience we're looking for
Thank you for your enquiry about this key post of SENCo at the Elmgreen School. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced practitioner who is excited to lead a large team of support staff and oversee our two resource bases - one for Deaf learners and one for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
We are seeking to appoint a member of staff as part of our Inclusion team who has a passion to see all students succeed and a commitment to ensuring that SEN students at The Elmgreen School are successful and reach their full potential.
The Elmgreen School became part of the Dunraven Educational Trust in September 2021, and together, we are focused on developing an exciting, dynamic and progressive community, focused on improving the outcomes for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the champion for students with Special Educational Needs, developing and implementing policies and practices for SEN which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement and effective teaching and learning
- ensure that effective systems are in place to identify, support, monitor, evaluate and review the needs of all students with SEN
- support all staff in understanding the learning needs of students with SEN and the importance of raising achievement for all students
- Build positive relationships with families of students with SEN
