SENCO job summary

The Meadows Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced SENCO. Duties will include:

Determine the strategic development of SEND policy and provision in the school, including our resource base for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs

Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND

Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies

Support and further develop our staff’s understanding of the needs of SEND pupils to enable all staff to be confident teachers of SEND

Consult with staff, parents, external agencies, and other schools to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision

Being an initiative-taking member of our school’s leadership team.
