SEND Administrator job summary

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and dedicated SEND Administrator to join our SEND Team and play a vital role in ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

About the Role

As our SEND Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the SENCO, and wider SEND Team. You will be the first point of contact for staff, parents, and external agencies, ensuring that communication, records, and processes are managed efficiently and professionally.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and maintain accurate records for pupils with SEND, including EHCPs, Inclusion Plans, and access arrangements.
  • Organise and prepare meetings such as EHCP Reviews, TAFs, and MATs, liaising with parents, local authorities, and outside agencies.
  • Support the Admissions process for SEN pupils, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate record keeping.
  • Manage the SEND filing room and student files, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Provide cover for the Academy Reception when required, maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Offer general administrative support across the Academy on an ad hoc basis to support wider school operations.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience in a busy office or school environment.
  • Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and school MIS software (such as SIMS).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Have a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice or a willingness to learn.
  • Be able to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Be flexible, proactive, and committed to supporting the inclusive ethos of the school.

DBS Checks

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
